Lewis and Clark Preview

I just received a preview copy of Download N Go’s Lewis and Clark unit study.  I am really looking forward to doing this unit.  We have not studied Lewis and Clark in a long time and it will be really fun to do it the Download N Go way!

In each Download N Go unit there are 5 days of lessons.  In Lewis and Clark you’ll find:

Day 1:  What Brought About the Adventures of Lewis and Clark?

Day 2:  Who Were Lewis and Clark?

Day 3:  Science Secrets of the Expedition

Day 4:  Lessons to Learn From Lewis and Clark

Day 5:  Remembering Lewis and Clark

One of the things I love about Download N Go unit studies is that I am always learning new things right along side the kids.  The videos, internet links and books make each week an adventure in learning for all of us.

The more Download N Go units we do the more I like them.  I am so pleased with how easy it is to get ready for each day and the versatility of each unit.  I can print out all of the pages or pick and choose to create personalized lapbook folders for each child. (We use pocket folders with 3 rings to store the worksheets and glue our lapbook components to the inside covers.)  Even my 2 year old joins in to do “schoolwork” with the fun coloring and cut and paste pages.

In the early elementary years, I think it is important for children to be introduced to a wide variety of educational topics and experiences. Lewis and Clark, like all of the Download N Go units, covers a smörgåsbord of subjects to learn about.  In addition to learning about Meriwether Lewis and William Clark you will learn about Thomas Jefferson, Sacajawea, geography, plants, animals and so much more!  You will also find spelling/vocabulary words, puzzles and games to play online and a joke of the day.

Lewis and Clark is due to be released in a few days.  Join the Download N Go facebook page for the latest announcements or read the blog.  My thanks go to Amanda Bennett and The Old Schoolhouse for another wonderful unit to share with my children.

*I received a free copy of Lewis and Clark in exchange for my honest review.
